I absolutely agree and encourage my employee's to not check their emails when they are on holiday. Sometimes I wish I could take my own advice, but is it really possible to switch off?  I am not convinced.

My personal phone is my work phone and perhaps this is where I am going wrong?!

Is it down to lack of respect for someone's personal life? Does it depend on other people's expectations of how quickly you should respond to an email? Do they work over the weekend or on holiday so expect the same standards?

I have an upcoming trip to Italy in a few weeks and this time I will be making sure I prepare a lot more beforehand and set expectations to my team and clients so I can try for the first time in about 12 years to truly switch off.

Let's see if this is actually possible.

Apart from throwing my phone into Lake Como,  recommendations welcome!
